MA Fine Art

Our natural world is under threat from different sources and, like many, I am concerned with the legacy we are leaving to future generations. My photographic practice aims to graphically convey the threat of environmental degradation in all its forms.

I am interested in the influences within and between different art forms, particularly photography and painting/printmaking. All my work starts with a photograph, but I then add layers of meaning by manipulation of the image. I have developed films at heightened temperatures and soaked prints in river water to highlight the dangers of global warming and river pollution.

I want to challenge the boundaries between photography and other art forms creatively, but one that has meaning attached. In this way, I try to both intrigue and engage the viewer to think about the adverse way in which we are changing our natural environment.
