Gary Diggines
MA Fine Art
I began my MA after eight years of practising street photography in the Norfolk seaside town of Great Yarmouth, consolidating my work and beginning the process of presenting it to others. I have explored Psychogeography and Autoethnography to contextualise my practice and understand my relationship with it, and the streets. It was also my intention to apply my practice to other locations, to which, for my final project, I produced the body of work ‘Norwich by Night’.
On completing my studies, I intend to get both collections published and continue to explore other locations and my relationship with them. This will also include producing short films comprising still images documenting more localised environments like ‘Yarmouth Stores’, which I made for an earlier unit, about the same named Heritage workwear company. I also intend to open up my practice to those wishing to employ my vision of their environment.
