MA Fine Art

As a mature ‘dyslexic thinking’ artist, I describe myself as a ‘Fine Art Maker’, working in both mixed media and multimedia arts. I am particularly attracted to found and recycled objects, allowing my imagination to be ever more curious.

MA Fine Art Work by: Jo Thomasina Showing a large steel triangle sculpture. Encouraged to rust using white vinegar and table salt. Inspiring an illusion of weathered steel based outside.

Throughout my MA course, most of my work has been based on my passion for installation art. Enjoying audience participation where my work gains that extra element of becoming a performance artwork. The other area where my creative interests lay, is in working alongside therapists, to co-facilitate in ‘Arts for Well-being’ workshops.

MA Fine Art Work by: Jo Thomasina Showing exterior, a small grey slate triangle shaped sculpture, inertia, round cardboard coils in an abstract design of mixed acrylic paints.

Having already achieved invaluable lifetime skills including interactive and communication skills working within a variety of industries. The key area in development through my MA course has been to think out of the box. Being open-mindedly flexible, in the understanding of what the client or participating viewer wants from their overall experience.
