As we all know sound has a vital role to play in our lives. The ability to hear is one of the greatest powers to the mankind. Sound has always been pursued to be heard not to be seen. Here I come with my project “Representing Sound of Strings Through Textiles,” which gives an essence of visual sound on fabric with the help of Tie and Dye technique. It will allow the audience to see SOUND through shapes, patterns, and colours, in other words it is also known as Synaesthesia. The art piece is an enlarged garment with variety of sound patterns; it is designed with monochromatic colour to enhance the shapes and patterns on to it.
Since I have always been interested in music and I come from a musical background, I chose string music as a theme for the project.
“Sound can not only be heard; it can be seen too.”
Let me take you to the world of visible sound.
