I am a multidisciplinary artist whose primary focus is on animal extinction and the impact of the consumerism on both society and the environment. Throughout my Masters, I have explored the conceptual possibilities of combining these topics to create works that not only capture the audience’s attention in a light-hearted manner but also make a profound statement.
Going forward, I intend to strengthen these connections through continued experimentation and exploration into concepts such as mass production within a capitalist society, this is a topic that is touched upon in the gumball machines and the individual objects contained within. Each is almost exactly identical and made through this repetitive action that has helped form our modern capitalist society.
To further push these ideas of extinction and consumerism forward, I want to investigate the profitability of the works and how they could be transformed into larger-scale mass-produced objects.
