My knitted collection is called Floral Floats, explores the essence of nature’s beauty through the natural folds, rhythmic curls, and ruffles of petals, creating a form that is suggestive of a flower that will capture the petals with an essence of floral elegance.
Inspired by the divine feminine energy embodied by Gaia, the Greek goddess mother of all life, “Floral Floats” encapsulates her connection to the Earth and all living things.
The use of pink, a colour deeply intertwined with the history of feminism and the ongoing fight for equality and respect, serves as a vibrant thread running throughout the collection. This celebrates the beauty and complexity of femininity but also pays homage to the colour’s symbolic representation of love, compassion, and understanding qualities that mirror Gaia’s nurturing spirit.
My collection of knits is created using domestic, dubied and Stoll knitting machines and hand-knitted elements.
