Bibi Bruce is a multimedia artist who employs elements of textiles, sculpture and printmaking to produce work which reflects on a broad range of emotional experiences, including intimacy, desire and connection.

 

Fabric plays a key role in the artist’s work- the fluidity and transformative nature of the medium allows them to use it to speak for their experiences and emphasise these qualities in their work. The tactile nature of fabric allows the artist to give form to their emotions and feelings, while it also allows for transformation and movement.

 

Bruce uses their lived experience as a Queer person to inform their work, which often explores the intricacy of life lived as a Queer person, and the multifaceted experiences this can elicit.
