I am an illustrator/painter who specialises in Children’s picture book Illustration. My approach to painting comes from my interest in nature. I am influenced by nature’s variety of natural and unique forms, colours and textures, as well as its unpredictable behaviour. Abstract Art has a significant impact on my creative process. I put time and consideration into my artwork, frequently using mark making to represent movement and motion in my work.

I create pieces of art which draw on my experience of growing up surrounded by the English countryside, where my love for nature began. My degree has helped me to develop my skills with storytelling, structuring artwork to create imagery which can demonstrate meaning to a younger audience with or without text. I wish to work alongside an Illustration agency or publisher producing children’s picturebooks which demonstrate to children the importance of an imagination, and of an appreciation of the countryside around them.
