Working between two and three-dimensions my work explores line as a physical object rather than a mere mark or representation. I am interested in the potential of a line, when lifted off the page, to redefine how we perceive space and surface. Process and craftsmanship are important, especially the repetitive, labour-intensive nature of handcrafting. I find the process of making meaningful, allowing for discovery, improvisation, and personal expression.
The piece I constructed for my degree piece represented an accumulation of labour and time, a notion that labour itself can offer solace and mindfulness.
