Esmé Vivian-Shaw
BA Fine Art
I am an interdisciplinary artist with a passion for a range of mediums. Over my time at Norwich a key part of my practice has become mixed media animation, but I also love working in print, sculpture, photography and many other art forms. Thematically, my work is much more focused, exploring themes of childhood, grief and trauma. My work has become a tool for recovery and reconnection with myself, a big part of this has been learning how to be expressive and playful, this is particularly important to me when tackling difficult topics in my work.
The research portions of my degree have seen me focus in on art as a therapeutic tool (both in and out of clinical settings) which I hope to explore further in my career/studies. I hope to work in community arts, particularly regarding accessibility in the arts. Currently I am on a course studying workshop running and accessibility, as well as learning BSL to further develop the skills I need to work in these areas.
