Georgia Richardson
BA Textile Design
I have explored my passion for woven textile design throughout my degree, developing colour, materiality and technical skills as a creative designer. Sustainability has always been at the heart of my projects, using natural dyes and fibres to create my unique colour palettes and enhancing my weaves’ natural aesthetic and tactility. My passion for global textiles has also contributed to my techniques and processes.
During my time at university, I have developed many skills including working collaboratively to answer briefs, while being adaptable to meet requirements, showing attention to detail in my presentation and successfully meeting deadlines, all of which have prepared me for my career.
I have been successful in my projects, from being shortlisted for a prize at the Batsford Awards for my project ‘In the Mountains’, to receiving awards for live briefs and my creativity in my weaves during my final major project.
