BA Photography
Living in rural Suffolk I take my developing aesthetic and apply it to areas I grew up in taking everyday shots but changing them into something new. As I move between home and the city the place I grew up in becomes a buffer, a zone, a transitional state which both I and the viewer will look upon with a fresh perspective.
Though I do photograph without the thought of what I would like to express or say through my work, I prefer to photograph without a state of being or ‘myself’. I do not take photographs for myself but rather with the intention that emotions of the viewers will be inserted into the images such as a sense of serenity or perhaps displacement. I want to be as selfless as possible when it comes to my projects with the intention of creating a sequence of images the viewers can gain a cue of memories or interpretations and project them onto my work.
