I have just finished my BA in illustration, and I have discovered so many skills and gained a wide range of knowledge within my practice. Over the course of my final year, I discovered model making and sculpture work and how I can transform my two-dimensional drawings into lifelike three dimensional sculptures. I am very keen to explore this avenue of fabrication further in my career, as I enjoyed every minute of creating ‘The Growing Tree’ project. At the beginning I was unsure of how the final piece would turn out, as I had to experiment and problem solve throughout the various stages of the building process. I was slightly sceptical at first, but I proved to myself that I can push my creative boundaries, and turn an idea into real life.
