Jessie Thompson
BA Textile Design
My graduate collection, River Reverie, explores the diverse ecosystems of freshwater habitats, aiming to foster discussions about the state of rivers in the UK and the challenges faced by its wildlife. In my collection, hand-drawn illustrations seamlessly transition into large-scale screen printing, complementing various finishes. This project showcases my love for experimenting with colour, particularly in creating colour shifts through dyeing techniques. Rooted in my design identity, this project draws inspiration from the natural world, utilises natural materials, and aligns with my focus on designing for interior contexts.
My university experience has equipped me with specialist printing techniques, confidence in using digital software, and the ability to collaborate with other creatives. Post-graduation, I am committed to advancing as a print designer and illustrator by gaining experience while aspiring to establish myself by selling my work.
