Jodie Paterson
BA Illustration
Over the course of my degree, I have experimented with a range of mediums, techniques, and subject matter, with the most recent being pyrography. I am always open to learning new things to expand my practice and develop more practical and technical skills, aiming to try something new within each project.
Throughout my education, I have screen printed, etched, printed on fabrics, woven, and more. Repeatedly, I have found myself linking my work back to nature, history, and sustainability, aiming to educate and encourage younger audiences about conservation and the importance of our wildlife.
My illustration practice has a key focus on surface pattern design, as I try to include patterns in all outcomes for briefs I have received. I would like to develop my love for pattern design further in my practice outside of university.
