Kyra Cornish
BA Illustration
Throughout my Illustration degree I have developed my skill and passion for character design and creating narrative-based work. I specialise in anthropomorphic animal characters and themes of nature and fantasy, and my practice aims to help spark or rebuild people’s connection with nature. For my final project I developed a narrative for my comic ‘Warden of the Wild’ that explores all these themes, and illustrated the scenes that introduce the characters and kick-starts the plot.
I’m most interested in work that involves character design, concept art, and storyboarding and have developed skills, such as working in a team, by involving myself in collaboration and curation projects: I worked on a publication during second year, and helped curate the graduation exhibition. Additionally, I enjoy printmaking processes such as screen-printing ( particularly t-shirt designs) and making Risograph prints.
