Mae Warner is an artist from Essex. Her work plays with narrative, drawing inspiration from folklore, books, history and the places around her.

Warner works in a quick but considered way, drawing busy and fantastical scenes, where boundaries between the inside and outside are blurred.

Using printmaking techniques such as monotype, etching and screen print, and the sculptural processes of casting and pottery, she builds narratives and backdrops for stories.

Here, form and perspective are altered, and spaces are squashed and confined into strange surroundings and characters.
