A Woman’s Place’ challenges the concept of the singularity of a womans purpose within a modern society. Considering how despite the increase in feminist discussion, several prejudices remain as hinderances for female progression within wider societal conversations.
My personal motivation behind this project lays upon the turbulence of navigating your twenties as a woman and reflecting upon what I have learnt from growing up within a predominately female household. Paying homage to my nan and the influence she has had on my personal self discovery through the use of textiles. With reference to interior furnishings, sportswear and businesswear I aimed to achieve a seamless balance; while provoking feelings of childhood nostalgia.
