Ruby Bellamy
BA Fine Art
I’m a multidisciplinary artist working with generational craft skills; I use quilt making, embroidery, and woodworking to create heirloom items similar to the pieces my family have made for me throughout my life. My practice is inspired by childhood memories, home, traditional craft processes, and women’s influence on arts and crafts throughout history.
Throughout my degree I have also developed a wide range of skills from graphic design to curation, these were all brought together through co-chairing and leading the design for IN THE WORKS, the 2024 Student and Staff Exhibition.
Exploring home has led to me working closely with local arts organisations, namely the Luxe Cinema, Wisbech & Fenland Museum, and Wisbech Gallery / BLACKFiELD CREATiVES. By working locally with this ever-growing list of cultural groups I’m establishing my roots, and getting to be a part in the celebration and accessibility of arts and culture in my hometown.
