Thea Grint
BA Illustration
I am a recent graduate of BA Illustration, with a focus on telling real stories. My final projects were heavily inspired by working in the Museums Service, learning about how people engage with the history of Norwich and the museums themselves. I love considering how my illustrations can engage young people with the world around them. This year I enjoyed writing and illustrating my first children’s book, ‘How Do They Stand So Still?’, about Norwich Castle’s taxidermy collection.
During my time at university my work has played with interactivity, from pop-ups to lift-the-flaps, and I have developed skills in both digital and traditional printmaking techniques.
I also had the opportunity to run several workshops, both through the university’s Interchange scheme and as a teaching assistant at a children’s art club. I really enjoy this kind of work and would love to continue teaching, alongside freelance illustration.
