Thyme Leng (he/him)
BA Illustration
I am a multicultural, autistic, queer illustrator based in Norwich, United Kingdom. My practice revolves around reportage-based illustrations using my lived experiences. I am interested in nature, journeys and the passage of time, in the context of the mundane. I explore these themes in my work in the form of visual journals and documentation.
I am interested in unconventional styles of drawing, with a focus on experimental traditional mark making in both styles and medium.
I work intuitively with immersion and aim to bring experience onto paper using the five senses to express sensory qualities, bringing depth to the visual.
I value nature and take part in nature conservation volunteering led by Norfolk Wildlife Trust, and aim to use my art to aid their outreach programme for nature conservation.
My graduation project is a visual document of a walking journey from Dereham Road to Sweet Briar Marshes nature reserve in the format of a concertina book.
