Vanessa Jimoh
BA Illustration
I’m interested in human identity, bullying, wellbeing and mental health, in narrative art. These themes are personal to me, and I strive to create art that raises awareness and fosters understanding.
My degree at the Norwich University of the Arts has equipped me with organisational and time management skills. I have excellent software skills in a variety of programs, including Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud. I learn new skills quickly, have an eye for detail, and I’m keen on working with briefs to produce high quality illustrations.
At university, I explored my visual storytelling by creating two 12-page comics addressing issues of bullying and body image in teens. The project allowed me to use my traditional and digital art skills.
As a Manga artist, I was able to use this style creatively to make the comics informative yet interesting. I have completed some private commissions, which has honed my skills of handling customers and clients, as well as money management.
