Bryony Mason
BA Fine Art
With a compulsion towards unflinching honesty, Bryony Mason is driven by a need to reveal and confront her experiences of trauma and its ricochet on her life today. Using a variety of mediums, but predominantly utilising text and personal symbolism, Bryony works in collage and textiles to discuss difficult subjects such as being a survivor of childhood sexual abuse; a subject usually reserved for whispers rather than the art gallery.
Bryony’s most prolific work feels like a diary entry, often depicting her thoughts and worries in delicate collage cut from newspaper headlines. This practice has given Bryony the voice she never thought she’d have; and the platform she didn’t feel worthy of until her time at Norwich University of The Arts.
