Eve Holmes
BA Interior Design
I am a spatial designer with a strong interest in socially responsive architecture and the revitalisation of overlooked spaces. My work focuses on reactivating sites through thoughtful spatial interventions that encourage community engagement and inclusivity. I am particularly interested in how architecture can support young people and can strengthen local identity.
My project BAIRN is a youth centre located at the Apollo Pavilion in Peterlee, County Durham. It explores how circulation, forced perspectives and materiality can create meaningful spatial experiences within a fragmented, derelict community while drawing attention back to important heritage structures and public spaces. I balance conceptual thinking with practical design considerations, using narrative to shape environments that are both engaging and socially valuable. I aim to continue developing projects that preserve cultural significance while positively transforming underused communities and public environments.
