BA Interior Design
Throughout my university experience, I have explored designs that respond to the emotional void often present in modern interiors. With a focus on memory and history, my work aims to create intimate spaces where people feel comfortable reconnecting with themselves and others.
Grounded in the historic context of St James Mill in Norwich, this project reimagines the site as an environment that fosters connection to both community and heritage. Inspired by Norwich’s identity as “The City of Stories,” the design becomes a physical manifestation of narrative, embedding storytelling into spatial experience.
Originally built as a final attempt to revive the once-thriving textile industry, the mill’s legacy informs the concept, symbolizing interwoven relationships between people, place, and history. Through this approach, the design restores emotional resonance, warmth, and a sense of belonging within the built environment.
