Nancy-Mae Wright
BA Fine Art
Nancy-Mae is a Multi-disciplinary artist whose practice explores ephemerality, entropy and the relationship between landscape, memory and material. Working across image-making, writing and plant-based processes, she sustainably sources materials directly from the environments she works within. For this exhibition, she turns towards Middleton Mount in Norfolk, exploring the site as both archive and active presence. Working with vegetation such as brambles and nettles, she creates natural dyes, inks and anthotypes that gradually emerge and fade over time. Through these unstable and process-led methods, her work reflects cycles of growth, decay and transformation within the landscape.
