Hermione Johnson
BA Games Art and Design
My work for this project centres around a game concept titled ‘BIOGENESIS EVOLVED’. This project served as an opportunity for me to build a world from the ground up, exploring multiple avenues of concept art, developing designs for characters, environments and props, and considering how they would fit and function within a game world. I used this project as a chance to reflect on wider themes, with some designs being used to critique how women’s autonomy is percieved, as well as exploring the complexities of family dynamics.
As an aspiring 2D concept artist I used this project as a way to build my technical skills (learning how to implement 3D modelling into my workflow) and also consider what would be required of me for in industry. I focused on showcasing the process of my work and making it is useful as part of the games art pipline.
Having an abundance of creative-freedom in this project has allowed me to push the limits of what I thought possible for myself and my art.
