Janet Chase
BA Fine Art
I have been rebuilding my identity through practice. My work explores grief as an ongoing, attentive process, creating a feminist rupture where loss intersects with identity, silence, and previously inhabited roles.
Alongside my studies, I volunteer at The Matthew Project, as an art facilitator, providing mindful art-based workshops for recovering addicts. I curated an exhibition, of their work, at Olives coffee bar, in Norwich. This work appeared in the ‘Hidden’ exhibition at St Peter Mancroft church.
I have been deeply involved in student representation, receiving Student Rep of the Year for three years, serving as Student Governor, and being elected President of Education and Representation for the forthcoming academic year.
As part of the collaborative duo of ducks, my work has gained local media attention, exploring consent and privacy. I am recognised for communication, adaptability, leadership, and distinctive creative presence on campus.
