Lottie Snook
BA Animation and Visual Effects
I am a graduate Animation and Visual Effects student with a growing interest in compositing and character-driven storytelling. My practice explores how visual effects can move beyond technical application to support narrative, particularly in themes of identity, transformation and self-perception. I enjoy experimenting with hybrid approaches that combine practical creation and VFX, such as building miniature sets and compositing scaled versions of myself into them to create visually engaging, concept-driven work.
My final major project, “Which Witch is Which?”, is a short film blending mockumentary storytelling and visual effects to explore the chaotic self-discovery of a modern-day witch. Through talking head interviews and vlog-style footage, the film presents an intimate, comedic perspective. Techniques like compositing and character duplication visually express fragmentation and multiplicity, reinforcing its themes of identity.
