BA Fine Art
I am a multimedia artist who works primarily in abstract painting alongside printmaking. I combine these two mediums to explore themes of social class and the divide within society.
My work is intended to have an emotional impact, helping people feel seen in a world that often misunderstands them. As a working-class artist, I aim to shine a light on my community, highlighting both the mistreatment and misrepresentation it faces. At the same time, I want to celebrate the love, strength, and closeness within these communities.
This is reflected in my paintings of old family portraits, often inspired by my parents and my childhood. These works represent working-class families who, despite the challenges they face, remain resilient and supportive, striving to build the best lives they can for themselves.
