Mariana Fernandes
BA Interior Design
I am graduating from Norwich University of the Arts with a degree in Interior Design. Throughout my studies, I have been driven by curiosity for how spaces shape people’s experiences.
I am particularly inspired by the transformation of atmosphere through colour, materials and spatial flow. This developed further in my final project, where I redesigned the interior of a disused listed building. The opportunity to revive its history and give it a new purpose for future generations strengthened my interest in adaptable design.
My process begins with understanding users and exploring ways to repurpose materials. Collaboration, organisation and communication have been key elements of my practice along with responding constructively to feedback and meeting deadlines.
After graduating, I hope to train as an art and design teacher, supporting young people in expressing themselves creatively while continuing interior design projects to expand my skills and professional direction.
