Isabelle Baker
BA Interior Design
Throughout my degree in interior design at Norwich University of the Arts, I have developed an interest in creating atmospheric and sensory led designs. My work explores how materials, lighting and spatial layouts can influence our mood, well-being and overall atmosphere of a space. Alongside my studies I gained experience working within a luxury interior design showroom which strengthened my understanding of visual communication.
My final project reimagines the ruins of Trowse Newton Hall at Whitlingham Country Park as a wellness centre where it explores the relationship between old and new. The project focuses on creating calm and immersive spaces that encourage relaxation and connection with the surrounding landscape. I am particularly interested in how designs can shape our emotional experience and create spaces that encourage people to slow down, reconnect and engage more deeply with their surroundings.
