Scarlett Morley
BA Fine Art
I am a BA Fine Art graduate, whose practice celebrates the joys of movement and dance, and how it can be used to restore bodily presence in a world that is counting on us to cave deeper into our minds. My biomechanical figure sculptures are embodiments of an overwhelming urge to escape into movement. Frozen in time, they encourage the viewer to relieve the tension in their coiled limbs by moving themselves.
Throughout my university studies, I conducted extensive research into Outsider art, the art of the mentally ill, and prehistoric sculpture. After graduation, I intend to seek out a role within a gallery or museum, where I can continue to develop my knowledge of art history and pursue my interests in art conservation and handling.
